Abstract:

Professional photographs, likely the work of a government agency, documenting the construction of dams, reservoirs and other structures associated with various water conservation, water reclamation and flood control projects in California overseen by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Identified projects include Casitas Dam, Casitas Reservoir and Ventura River Conveyance System of the Ventura River Project; Vaquero Dam and Twitchell Dam of the Santa Maria Project; and the Trinity River Project (or Trinity Division of the Central Valley Project). Also includes a large number of photographs of unidentified projects.
